"So we're all dead after all and straight from the ashes we crawl"
"So raise your glass high for tomorrow we die, And return from the ashes we're from."
"We all go to Hell and it's quite pleasant except for the smell..."
"Their hand is at your throats, yet you see Them not."

No New Posts Parthenon

The Parthenon is the remains of a temple to the Greek goddess Athena, the patron goddess of the ancient City of Athens. The Parthenon is a temple located on the Acropolis. Work on the building began in 447 BCE and continued until 438 BCE; some of the decorations were completed later. It was built over the site of an earlier temple which is sometimes called the Pre-Parthenon. Many treasures would have been displayed in the building, but the glory of the Parthenon was the gigantic statue of Athena designed by Phidias and made out of chryselephantine (elephant ivory) and gold. The statue now lays in disrepair, worn faceless by the ages. The glory of this great building can still be felt, though over half of it no longer stands.

No New Posts Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon

Temple of Poseidon, with its magnificent view of the Aegean, seems to still fulfill the role of sea watcher from the high promontory. If you are fortunate enough to find yourself among them, also be intent on watching your step on the alternately rough or slippery rocks, and if you are traveling with young ones, people prone to vertigo, or merely the inherently clumsy please be aware that there are no guard rails, chains, or anything similar protecting you or your loved ones from a quick plunge into air, water, and rocks. Also, the steps are in disrepair, so watch out for crack or missing pieces. Add to this a strong, frisky breeze and, perhaps, the fact that Poseidon also rules over earthquakes, and you have cause for caution.

Piraeus was once the prime dock of Athens, with ships from all over coming into port here. Now there are a few sunken vessels littering the water. The dock is still in working order though, and if you're careful, you can still come into port here.

No New Posts Lycabettus Hill

Once a tall, lush Hill, it is now covered in bare trees. The trees themselves are twisted and blackened, having mutated over time to resemble something forbidding. The beauty of this spot has long ago been lost, but it still offers a great vantage point over the city.

No New Posts Syntagma Square

The 'Heart of Athens', Syntagma Square was once called "The Garden of the Muses" and is believed to be where the "Peripatetics", a group of philosophers led by Aristotle, used to wander in the grove of trees that once grew here. The stones are in bad order but this square is remarkably in tact. This would the perfect place for Kohl's base, seeing as there are dozens of old shops, hotels, and a broken down train station surrounding this square.

No New Posts Psirri

Another place similar to the square, if a bit smaller, this center used to how several shops and a large wealth of small churches. Some of the churches are still in such good condition that they are perfectly livable. But if you're not on Kohl's side, be careful, his men have been known to use this center as well.

Osios Lukas monastery was a complex of buildings set on a hillside near Distomo, a few miles from Arachova near Delphi. There are pieces of the mosaic missing and some saints will never be remembered because they no longer stand in the ruins.
