Blair smiled and shook her head. She's a strong little bugger I'll give her that. He thought as he stood and watched her. He contemplated for a moment bending over and just picking her up but he didn't think she would appreciate that. "Well sometimes people care about other people for reasons that seem strange to those who can't see inside their minds." He shrugged and looked around at the darkening forest. "Do you need me to carry you? It's getting pretty dark out."

She struggled to her feet, wincing as pain shot through her ankle and up her leg. No.. i do not need to be carried. It isn't that bad. But a littel sore. she lied as she turned and began to walk. But teh first step she took with the injured foot caused her to nearly fall! He bent over, grabbing at the injury. She cursed under her breath. She was NOT going to let Blair carry her! It was bad enough that Edward insisted he watch over her when he could not. Kaila didn;t trust him. There was something in his colors that screamed of danger.

Blair rolled his eyes and moved over to her, laying his hand on her back. "Kaila, being stubborn isn't always in your best interest and with the night descended on us as it is, it would be better if you just let me carry you so that we don't run the risk of being attacked." Already Blair could hear the sounds of the creatures of the night coming closer, sniffing and making their strange sounds, eerie moans, snuffling, slithering sounds, high pitched keening which sounded in the forest almost like a scream. He shook his head. "Would you rather lose a little pride and not get eaten, or the other?"

She glowered at him and reluctantly slipped her arm over his shoulder to allow him to pick her up. For she too could sense the nightly creatures closing in on them already. I do not understand why you even care, your colors tell me you'd rather be back in your home land. wherever that may be, she thought silently as she gazed at him.

Blair chuckled and lifted her effortlessly, walking quickly through the woods on his way back to the camp. "I care because your brother tells me I have to care but you are absolutely right. I would rather be home." He shook his head at her astuteness and silently filed away her comment in the folder where he was storing everything about her powers. "How do you read those colors anyway?"

She kept her arms about his kneck for a more steady ride as he carried her. She gazed at him, her eyes intent, almost studying him. I am not comepletly sure. I am still figureing it out. But some of them... the colors... it is a kind of knowing. But I am not sure how I know these things. I do know however, that the colors tell me what people really feel, despite what they say or show to those around them. she heard a howling in teh distance and jerked her head to look in that direction. It didn't sound very close though.

Blair pushed his shoulder through a large clump of thorny leaves. Grinding his teeth, Blair pulled through, leaving a few small cuts on the side of his neck. Blood welled but it wasn't too bad. He looked down at her, trying to ignore the howling. "So even when someone's lyin' to you, you can still see through that? I didn't know that was how the colors worked..." He made a face, pulling his brow together and thinking to the only other person he'd ever met with those powers. It had been a long time ago though. There was a rustling nearby, probably some small mammal that could smell the blood from his cuts.

Kaila bit her lip and looked towards the rustling. H-how much further is teh base? I didn't think we were this far away. she looed to blair breifly and turned her gaze away before he could see the fear in her eyes. She may be a good fighter and put up a front to others, but she was only a fifteen year old girl who couldn't remember her real name.

Blair nodded and said, "Just over that little hill right there." He squeezed her a little and began the trek up the hill. It would be a little challenging trying to get to the top holding her but he could manage. He was abnormally strong after all. Smiling he just walked, holding her tightly so as not to drop her. Reaching the top of the hill, he looked back behind them. At the bottom of the hill was a large dog, it looked like one anyway. It's fur was a dark burgundy shade and it eyes shone black like a spiders. As a matter of fact, it could be spider eyes ith the way the light glistened off of them. It snarled, baring fangs dripping with something that didn't seem like just spit. Blair licked his lips and slowly began to go back down the other side of the hill.
(no we can either have a fight break out and Blair have to protect Kaila, which would make her trust him more. Or we can have the thing loose interest)

((FIGHT!!!!! YAY! DRAMA! lol))
Kaila stiffened seeing teh creature snarling at them. She looked to blare as he backed up back down the hill. Now how are we going to get back? she asked him. I have no weapons and I wouldn't be any help in a fight. she glanced sadly at her ankle. She bit her lip as she remembered that people seem to be weakened or loose their abilities altogether when they were near her. She wasn't sure if Blair had any powers but it wouldn't be good for to be near her if he did while he was fighting.

Blair gently set her down as the beast began to make it's way up the side of the hill, sniffing. The things swung it's head back and forth, pendulous, as it make it's way towards them. It's tail, which looked as though it were a alive, swung up over it's back, flicking back and forth. It looked as though it had a barbed point at the end of it. Blair shook his head, as he moved away from Kaila, pulling his metal tipped bow off his back. He licked his lips, setting himself in his fighting stance. The creature crested the hill, glowering at him, and growled. It crouched, stalking towards him. Swaying back and forth, the thing lunged.
Blair hit the ground, swinging his bo up and catching the thing in the middle, throwing it back the other way. It hit the ground and slid, rolling to it's feet and running back towards him. Blair fought furiously. hitting the thing on the side of it's head with one of the metal tips of his bo. It's head jerked to the side, but but it's tail swung around, striking out at him. He shifted slightly, the spike barely missing him and burying into the ground. Where the spike hit, the ground died, turning into a hard brittle dirt. He groaned as he tried to hold the beast off, pushing it back with his bo and kicking it in the middle. It fell back again, growling and shaking off the hit. Blair reached to his side and pulled the pouch with his shuriken in it off, throwing it to Kaila. "If you have any kind of aim at all, help." He said as the beast jumped at him again.

Kaila grabbed up the unlit torch and the pouch. She pulled out the star shaped metal peices and held up one. She bit her lip, trying to get a clear shot. She crawled around to a different angel. The thing's neck was exposed. She steeled her gaze and let the thing fly. She didn't wait to see if it landed where she'd aimed, she started fantically looking around, trying to find something, anything that she could use against the beast.

Blair jerked his hand back as the shuriken came in, burying into the shoulder of the beast. He had almost gotten his hand pierced through, but he could deal with that. The beast had recoiled, favoring the shoulder that had been hit. Blair took the opportunity to twirl his bo around and level the metal spiked tip with it's chest, driving it in. The thing howled this otherworldly sound, like 2 wolves howling in harmony at once. He flinched, holding his ear. The thing turned and limped away, falling a little, then got back up, falling down the hill. He sighed and held his ear for a minute. Smiling, he turned back to Kaila. "Thanks." He said, cleaning the end of his bo. "That was infinitely helpful." He went and sat down next to where she had been.

Kaila's chest heaved a bit as she tried to catch her breath after the adrenaline rush. She sat there staring towards where the thing had disappeared to. It was really dark by now. She turned and looked to Blair. Are... are you alright? she asked hesitantly.

Blair nodded and sighed. "I'm fine..luckily." He smiled and looked up at her, smiling wider as he looked towards where the thing had fallen off the hill. Chuckling a little, and ran his fingers through his hair. "Well I am definitely thrilled that you at least have somewhat of an aim." He stood and grasped her by the shoulders, hugging her. "That thing would have killed both of us if it weren't for that throw." Looking towards the edge of the hill again, his smiled faded a little. "Well now the awkward part happens. I have to go skin it." Of course they would have to skin it, thick furs were hard to come by nowadays. "Is that ok?"
